Let’s Start with the Essentials

Disaica is a civil engineering firm with over 15 years of experience in Venezuela, recently expanding its reach to the United States. To take the next step in their vision of solidifying their presence in the U.S. market, Disaica needed to modernize its digital presence.

With this challenge in mind, Disaica reached out to us to create a new website that would serve both as a full portfolio showcase for their projects and as a tool for attracting new clients in the U.S. market, presenting a fresh, modern look.

With these objectives clear, the Opentech team got to work.

Focusing on Visual Impact

From the start, Disaica gave us creative freedom to develop the visual concept for their website, while maintaining their existing brand identity. Recognizing the strength of their current branding, we decided to keep it intact, focusing on visually highlighting Disaica’s engineering services. This led us to prioritize images over text within the site’s design to better showcase their expertise.

Clarity and Functionality

In close collaboration with Disaica, we designed a sitemap that clearly reflects the desired information and brand qualities. This process involved multiple meetings to gather requirements and ensure each section of the site aligned with Disaica’s established visual concept and expectations. The sitemap, simple and intuitive, includes these essential sections: Navbar and Hero, "Get to Know Us," Services, Projects, a Call to Action (CTA), and Footer. We chose a site structure consistent with other sites in the civil engineering sector, enhancing usability and aligning with industry trends.

Sketching the Future

Based on the completed sitemap, we started developing wireframes for each section of the website. This stage was crucial to ensure the structure effectively represented Disaica’s information and needs. Our focus was on functionality, organizing the content in a way that made navigation easy for users. We aimed for a design that was not only consistent and accessible but also efficient in presenting Disaica’s broad range of engineering services.

Dynamic Navigation

We implemented a slider method with fading animations, enabling visitors to discover visual elements as they scroll, adding a modern, dynamic touch to the site. To optimize load times, we used Qwik JS on the front end, enhancing efficiency and allowing the page to load fully at once, eliminating delays while scrolling.

When we presented the final product to our client, the reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with instant approval. Aesthetically, the page met all of the client’s expectations, which was a significant boost for our team’s morale, ensuring the rest of the process went smoothly.
